Joy to the World

Joy to the World....she may not know the words but she can carry the tune. This was Claire's favorite Christmas song to sing this year. It became a favorite of ours, too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I know I really enjoy Christmas time. Well, most of it. I do get stressed out with shopping for the right gifts and so many places and things to do. Hayden was in a Christmas program and church. He did a wonderful job. The whole program was wonderful. Thank you, Mrs. Wells, for all that you do for our church and children. Also, Hayden was Santa in a program at school for the second grade class at Rise in Shine. However, my sweet child did not inform his mother of this and I missed it. I was and am so upset that I missed it. I hear he did a wonderful job.

We went to Christmas Eve services at church as always. The church was packed. This is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas.

The kids had a hard time going to sleep that night with the anticipation of Santa coming that night. They were all up bright an early that morning. Mom and Dad came over to watch the kids open gifts. Hayden wanted a puppy for Christmas and Santa granted him his wish. He left Hayden a note on the responsibilities it was going to take for him to take care of the puppy. Also, Santa instructed Hayden on showing his brother and sister how to take care of the puppy, too. Santa sure was thinking of Hayden when he brought the puppy to our house. The puppy is a Maltipoo. This mixed dog is low to nonshedding and is good for people who have allergies and/or asthma. I sure hope so.

On the Saturday after Christmas, we had a surprise Birthday Party for Dad. He celebrated a birthday on Christmas Eve. I can't tell you how old he is because he would try to spank me. (not, really but he does not discuss his age). He was surprised and we got to show off the house to some of his friends. Mom and Dad put so much work into this house and we will never be able to repay them.

Also, during the month of December, Jason and I celebrated our 10th anniversary. It is hard to believe that it has been 10 years. Boy, we are getting old. On that note, I guess that explains why we stayed home and were asleep when 2009 arrived.

I have enjoyed being off during the Christmas Break and watching my children play and interact with each other. Claire informed me the other day that she was holding baby Jesus and her baby Jesus was a girl. Logan is getting big enough to play some games on the Wii. He is so fun to watch. He gets this serious expression on his face and his tongue sticks out when he is concentrating on bowling. Hayden wants to play basketball outside most of the time. He has improved so much since last year. He has beat his mother in around the world a few times.

I wish you all a healthy, safe, and successful 2009. God bless you.

Pictures with Santa

This picture was taken at church with Breakfast with Santa. Claire informed me that she was not afraid of Santa or the Rabbit now.

Thanksgiving/Christmas

It has been so long sinced I blogged. These pictures were taken at Memaw Connie and Pawpaw Bear's house on Thanksgiving Day. We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas at the same time. Jason's brother Bo was not going to be around at Christmas time. He is currently deployed out of the United States. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that he returns in late January and he does not have to leave again. The kids got to play with their cousins. The kids had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful day with family.
